60 year old male arrested & charged after robbing two Winnipeg financial institutions on June 16th

Winnipeg, Manitoba – On June 16, 2017 at approximately 12:00 p.m. a financial institution in the 1300 block of Plessis Rd. reported a robbery. A lone suspect received an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing. Winnipeg Police general patrol officers attended and entered into an investigation.

On the same date, at approximately 6:30 p.m. a financial institution in the 1600 block of Regent Ave. West reported a robbery. A lone suspect received an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing.

Through the course of the investigation officers were able to identify a suspect for both robberies. At approximately 7:50 p.m. the suspect was located in the 400 block of Henry Ave. were he was arrested.

Gerald Joseph PILON, 60-years-old, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Armed Robbery Using a Firearm
  • Possess Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Robbery
  • Possess Weapon
