Two Charged With Fentanyl Trafficking Following Saskatoon SIDEST Investigation

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Two people have been arrested and four charges have been laid in connection with fentanyl trafficking in Saskatoon.

Following an investigation by the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team (SIDEST), Police arrested a 20 year old male shortly after 7:00 p.m., June 16, 2017, in the 3300 block of Fairlight Drive. During the arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of 34 fentanyl pills, four hydromorphone pills and over $900 in cash.

The suspect has been charged with Trafficking Fentanyl, Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5000.

A 23 year old male was also arrested for Possession of Fentanyl, but was later released without charges.

SIDEST is comprised of members of the Saskatoon Police Service and RCMP ‘F’ Division.
