Food Delivery Worker Assaulted with a Weapon in Brandon, Manitoba

Brandon, Manitoba – At 2:28 p.m., Police responded to a report of a male being attacked in the alleyway of the 500 Block of 11th Street. Officers attended and located a male with a stab wound to his arm.

Investigators learned that the male victim was working as a food delivery driver and when delivering the food he was approached by a man and woman. The man demanded cash and the victims’ vehicle and during a struggle, the male suspect stabbed the victim in the arm.

As Police checked the area, a male matching the male suspects’ description was located. The suspect was found to have two knives and a small quantity of Methamphetamine on his person.

The 25-year-old male suspect was arrested for Attempt Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of Methamp0hetamine. The suspect was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Tuesday. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate to determine the identity and involvement of the female who was with the male suspect.
