Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges in Prince Albert

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – Three people are facing drug related charges after an early morning traffic stop by Prince Albert Police Service.

At approximately 3:45 a.m., June 20, 2017 while on routine patrol, officers observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and erratic. Patrol Officers initiated their emergency lights and pulled the vehicle over in the 300 Block of 27 Street East for a Traffic Safety Act investigation.

The 27 year old male driver was confirmed to be driving without a license as well as breaching court ordered conditions. The driver was arrested.

Police spoke with a 19 year old male passenger in the vehicle who was also confirmed to have outstanding warrants and breaching court ordered conditions and was arrested.

Police spoke with an 18 year old female passenger in the vehicle who was also confirmed to have outstanding warrants and was arrested.

After further investigation and a search of the vehicle police located and seized 5 Grams of Methamphetamine, 0.7 Grams of Cocaine, 4.8 Grams of Marihuana, a digital scale and 5 -12 gauge shot gun shells.

The 27 year old male is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Ammunition While Prohibited and Breach of Court Order (Info # 991016094).

The 19 year old male is charged with Possession of Marihuana, Possession of Cocaine and Breach of Court Order (Info # 991016082).

The 18 year old female is charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Marihuana (Info # 991016090).

All three accused will make their first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
