Two Arrested in Saskatoon for Alleged Fentanyl Trafficking

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Two men, ages 18 and 26, are facing charges following an investigation into fentanyl trafficking in Saskatoon.

Members of the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team (SIDEST) were conducting the investigation when they witnessed what appeared to be activity consistent with drug trafficking. Following a transaction in the 3500 block of John A. MacDonald Road, officers arrested the 26 year old man and found him to be in possession of fentanyl and cash. Subsequently, a traffic stop was conducted at Lorne Avenue and Circle Drive and the 18 year old was taken into custody. He was also found to be in possession of fentanyl and cash. A vehicle was also seized as part of the investigation.

In total, officers seized six fentanyl pills, more than $500 in cash, cell phones, and a BMW X3.

Both men are expected to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on June 22, 2017.

SIDEST is an integrated unit made up of members of the Saskatoon Police Service and RCMP “F” Division.
