Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – Prince Albert Police Service late Wednesday afternoon received a call for service regarding a male with a firearm on the 1000 block of 13 Street West.
At 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017, officers responded to the call, containing the residence, where the male was seen pointing a firearm towards school grounds.
A containment was also set-up by officers securing the larger area closing the roadway from 9th to 11th Avenue on 13 Street West.
Given the nature and gravity of the complaint the police service responded to it with a large number of resources to ensure public safety as the gun was being used in a neighborhood with a nearby school.
Three persons came out of the house and surrendered peacefully. All three were placed in handcuffs and subjects were interviewed and then released. No charges were laid.
Police searched the residence and located a pellet gun. One of the males admitted he was doing target practice in his backyard with the pellet gun, which had prompted the initial call for service.
