Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – Prince Albert Police Service had a steady weekend, responding to 314 calls for service and making 46 arrests. The top two calls for service were for intoxicated persons (46) and disturbances (33).

At 1:15 a.m., June 23, 2017 while on routine patrol officers stopped and spoke with a male riding a bike in the 200 Block of 12th Street East. The 38 year old male is known to police from previous dealings. Officers checked the serial number of the bicycle the male was riding and confirmed that the bike was stolen (Info # 991016517).
The 38 year old male is charged with Possession of Stolen Property and will make his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.

At 4:15 a.m., June 23, 2017 while on routine patrol, officers stopped and spoke with a male riding a bicycle in the 300 Block of 13th Avenue East. The 23 year old male is known to police and had outstanding warrants. The male was arrested for his warrants and searched. Police located a baton in the males back pack, glass breaking tool, 2 flash lights, gloves and a folding knife. Police also located a vehicle registration for a Toyota 4Runner and vehicle Manual for a Jeep, not believed to belong to the suspect.
Police located the owners of the vehicle registration and manual and confirmed their vehicle’s had been broken into and gone through. Police also confirmed the bicycle which the suspect was riding when stopped by police had been stolen from one of the residences.
The 23 year old male is charged with Carry a Concealed Weapon, Possession of Break in Tools, Possession of Stolen Property x2 and Breach of Court Order (Info # 991016594 ).
The accused will make his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
K9 Daxa assisted patrol officers apprehending a male early this morning after the suspect fled from a stolen vehicle.
At 6:00 a.m., June 26, 2017 police received a call from a complainant stating their vehicle had been stolen overnight from their residence. Shortly after responding to the complaint patrol officers observed the stolen vehicle travelling in the 700 Block of 6th Avenue East, operated by a lone unknown male. Officers attempted to pull the stolen vehicle over and activated their emergency lights and siren however the driver refused to stop and evaded police. Police discontinued their pursuit after a block and a half due to public safety concerns. The suspect vehicle continued east bound on 4th Street East out of sight of police.
Just minutes after last seeing the suspect vehicle travelling in an East bound direction on 4th Street East Police received a complaint of a motor vehicle accident at 4th Street and Macintosh Drive. Police arrived on scene and confirmed that the stolen vehicle that had fled from police minutes earlier had struck a parked car. Witnesses at scene observed a lone male flee the scene on foot from the stolen vehicle.
Police Service Dog Daxa attended scene and located the suspect attempting to hide from police in the yard of a residence in the 1000 Block of 4th Street East. A 21 year old male was taken into custody.
The 21 year old Prince Albert man is charged with Evading Police, Operating a Motor Vehicle in a Manner Dangerous to Public, Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident and Possession of Stolen Property.
The suspect will make his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.
