Police in Prince Albert Called to Attempted Suicide on Bridge

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – The Prince Albert Police Service attended a call on the Diefenbaker Bridge last night of a male attempting to jump from the bridge.

On June 26, 2017 at 9:42 p.m. negotiators from the Prince Albert Police Service, Parkland Ambulance, Prince Albert Fire Department, Mobile Crisis and a local elder attended the scene. The bridge was temporarily closed to the public to ensure public safety.

After a period of around two hours the male was safely escorted off the bridge by officers. The male has since been taken to hospital to receive mental health treatment. No one was injured in the incident.
