Stolen Vehicle Evades Medicine Hat Police on TransCanada Highway

Medicine Hat, Alberta – On June 30 2017 at approximately 3:00 pm police were conducting speed enforcement on Trans Canada (TC) Highway west bound by 13 Avenue SE. Police observed a 2002 dark blue Ford SRW speeding and a traffic stop was initiated. Vehicle refused to stop, continuing on at posted speed westbound on the TC highway.

As the vehicle approached the 7 Street SW intersection of TC Highway, the suspect vehicle then began to increase speed and conducted evasive maneuvers, at one point entering the eastbound lane of the TC Highway.

Police discontinued following the vehicle, observing it to once again enter the westbound lanes of the TC Highway. The Redcliff RCMP were advised of the incident.

Shortly thereafter Medicine Hat Police received a complainant of a stolen vehicle from the Brier Park Industrial Area. Medicine Hat Police located the blue 2002 Ford SRW in this area, where the second vehicle was stolen. It was determined that the blue Ford SRW had been stolen out of Lethbridge the previous evening.

RCMP then advised they had located the stolen vehicle east of Suffield with no driver. A K9 track was initiated, but unable to locate those involved. File currently under investigation.
