Dead Rabbit at Albert Lacombe School, Suspects Asked to Turn Themselves in

St. Albert, Alberta – On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at approximately 10:00 a.m., St. Albert RCMP were advised that a rabbit had been killed behind Albert Lacombe School located at 50 Gainsborough Avenue in St. Albert. RCMP attended the school where jackrabbit blood had been smeared on the school. A police investigation is continuing and a request has been made to have the school cleaned.

St. Albert RCMP have obtained video surveillance from the school and are in the process of reviewing and analysing the video to determine possible suspects. It is suggested that the person or persons responsible for this rabbit’s death and the mischief to the school turn themselves in to the St. Albert RCMP immediately to deal with this matter.

St. Albert RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed this event, to call 780 458 7700 or attend the Detachment to give a statement.

“Harming wildlife and damaging a school are disturbing and serious matters to the RCMP and the community of St. Albert.” says Cpl. Laurel Kading, the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the St. Albert RCMP Community Policing/ Victim Services Unit. “Officers are working hard to locate the offenders and stop this disrespectful behaviour.”
