Medicine Hat Police Arrest Two From Calgary Following Canada Day Drug Debit Home Invasion

Medicine Hat, Alberta – In the early morning hours of July 1, 2017, Police were called to the 800 block of 8th Street SW on a complaint of a home invasion. Upon arrival Medicine Hat Police located two person’s matching the description of the offenders involved and took them into custody.

The investigation revealed that Maxime Philippe 31 years old and Sahra Johnson 38 years old, both of Calgary, had attended the specific residence regarding a drug debt. During the incident, it is alleged that Philippe brandished a firearm in his attempt to collect the debt.

Incidental to arrest Maxime Philippe was found in possession of what is believed to be an ounce of Methamphetamine; he also possessed brass knuckles and a knife. Sahra Johnson was also in possession of brass knuckles. Later, a search of the vehicle associated to the two, located a semi-automatic rifle (pictured below) and various ammunition.

Maxime Philippe is charged with PPT Methamphetamine, Uttering Threats, Use of a firearm in commission of an offence, Unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of unauthorized body armor, Possession of a prohibited weapon and mischief.

A Bail Hearing determined Maxime Philippe may be released on a $5000 Cash Recognizance, with a Court date of July 12th, 2017.

Sarha Johnson is charged with Assault, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a concealed weapon.

Ms. Johnson was released on a $3000 No-Cash Recognizance after a Bail Hearing. Sarha Johnson’s Court date is also July 12th, 2017.
