7-Year-Old Struck and Killed in Lloydminster Near Rundle Park School, Police Seeking Witnesses

Lloydminster, Alberta – Lloydminster RCMP are investigating after a 7-year old child was struck by a vehicle on the evening of July 4th.

At approximately 8:30 pm, Lloydminster RCMP were dispatched to a collision between a red Toyota Tacoma and a 7-year-old boy at the intersection of 57 Avenue and 31 Street, near Rundell Park School. Tragically, the young boy died as a result of the injuries sustained in the collision.

The family of the deceased has been notified and the driver of the truck is being interviewed by police as part of the investigation. An RCMP collision re-constructionist is on scene and working with Lloydminster detachment members to determine the cause and factors in this collision.

While investigators are not seeking any suspects in this fatal collision, they are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Constable Jennings of the Lloydminster RCMP at 780-808-8400.
