Lloydminster, Saskatchewan – In the late afternoon of July 4, 2017 Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section members were investigating a stolen vehicle, being operated at a local service station. The driver fled the scene and struck one plainclothes police officer and dragged a second officer for a short distance. Both received minor injuries, that did not require treatment. The driver fled the area at a high rate of speed, southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 17. Police did not pursue the stolen vehicle due to the reckless and dangerous nature of the driver’s actions.
The stolen vehicle was recovered a short time later.
Jason Walter CALLAN age 41 of no fixed address in Lloydminster is charged with several offences that include: Dangerous Driving, two counts of Assault on Police with a weapon, Possession of Stolen Property over $5000 and Resisting Arrest.
The whereabouts of CALLAN are currently unknown.
