Suspended Driver Gives Camrose Police False Name Following Distracted Driver Stop

Camrose, Alberta – A traffic stop was conducted when Police observed a male driver using his cell phone. The male initially gave a false name to Police. Once his identity was confirmed it was determined that the male was a suspended driver. The 46 year old male from Maskwacis was arrested and charged with driving while suspended and obstruction. He was released on a promise to appear and his vehicle was seized.

A resident reported that his vehicles had been keyed overnight. Police entered into an investigation and were able to identify a suspect. Charges are pending.

Police observed a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign and conducted a traffic stop. It was also determined that the vehicle was not insured. The 24 year old male was charged with failing to obey a stop sign and for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
