Gas & Dash Suspect Charged for Running Over Station Attendant Causing Serious Injury

Strathcona County, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP have arrested a 22 year old male in relation to a hit and run that occurred on April 22, 2017 at the Superstore Gas Bar in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

Dalton William GRAY, age 22 of Sherwood Park, AB has been charged with:

  • One count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
  • One count of fail to remain.
  • One count of theft under $5000.

GRAY has been remanded into custody and his next court appearance is scheduled for July 19, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. in Sherwood Park Provincial Court.

The victim sustained significant injuries as a result of the incident.

On April 22, 2017 at approximately 2:52 p.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of a gas and dash at the Superstore Gas Bar on Baseline Road in Sherwood Park.

Witnesses report that a male suspect was leaving without paying for his gas when a male employee attempted to intervene and stop the suspect from leaving, resulting in the employee being run over.

The victim was transported to hospital by ground ambulance with serious injuries.
