Lethbridge Police seeking public assistance to identify driver responsible for hit and run

Lethbridge, Alberta -Lethbridge Police are releasing video surveillance of a hit and run collision in the parking lot of McDonalds along Scenic Drive South and are asking anyone who recognizes the driver to come forward.

On May 11, 2017 a Honda Civic was parked in the south lot at McDonalds along the 200 block of 3 Avenue South when a dark coloured mini-van entered the parking lot and collided with the Civic causing approximately $1,500 damage to the rear quarter panel.

In the video surveillance footage the driver is seen exiting the mini-van and the passenger takes his place. The offending driver is also observed to survey the damage to the other vehicle and appears to attempt to “buff it out” before getting back into the mini-van and leaving the area. The offender did not leave a note with his insurance details, make any effort to locate the driver or report the collision as required by law.

Anyone who recognizes the driver or has any information about this hit and run collision is asked to contact police at 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477. Crime Stoppers will pay cash for information leading to an arrest.
