Waving a Gun at Gas Company Employees Lands Male in Jail

Lethbridge, Alberta – On July 5 at 1600 hrs 2 ATCO Gas employees were moving a gas meter in the utility room of a 4-plex in the 1000 block of 27A Street North when they were confronted by a male who appeared intoxicated and behaved oddly. The male was holding a handgun in a holster and was waving the firearm around in front of their faces. The Gas employees feared for their safety and left the complex and called police. Lethbridge Police attended the 4-plex and contained the area.

While police were on scene, the subject had exited the 4-plex and was arrested by police without incident. His residence was searched and several weapons and ammunition were located in an insecure and unsafe manner.

James Cameron Forbes (37) was arrested and is awaiting a Bail Hearing.

Forbes was charged with two counts of Uttering Threats, Careless Use of a Firearm, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous, and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence.
