Drugs, Domestic Dispute & Break and Enter in Camrose, Alberta

Camrose, Alberta – July 10th, 2017 – Police received a complaint of two people sleeping in a parked vehicle and it was believed to be suspicious. Members responded and identified the two youths inside of the vehicle and noted a strong odour of cannabis marihuana. Police seized a quantity of cannabis marihuana and one youth has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and released on an appearance notice.

July 9th, 2017 – While on routine patrol, Police noted a vehicle bearing a license plate that did not match the vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and determined that the 21 year old male driver was prohibited from driving. It was also determined the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured. The vehicle was seized and towed. The male was issued several violation tickets under the Traffic Safety Act.

Police received a report of a domestic dispute at an apartment building. Police attended and located a 25 year old male and a 21 year old female involved in an altercation. The investigation revealed that during the verbal altercation, the male assaulted the female. Police record checks revealed the male had an outstanding warrant for his arrest due to an unpaid fine. The male was subsequently arrested for assault and for his outstanding warrant. He was transported and lodged in cells. The male’s fine was paid and he was released from custody. The matter is set to appear in Court at a future date.

While on patrol, a male was noted to be laying in the middle of the road. Police approached the 25 year old male and noted him to be grossly intoxicated by alcohol. The male was subsequently arrested for Public Intoxication and later released when sober.

July 8th, 2017 – Police arrested a male for his outstanding warrants. Upon arresting the individual, he was noted to be in possession of a weapon and under the influence of drugs, contrary to his prior release documents. The 25 year old male remains in custody.

Police were dispatched to a residence where the garage had been broken into. The investigation revealed that tools and lawn equipment were stolen. Police identified a suspect and attended his residence, where the stolen properties were located and recovered. The 34 year old male had fled the residence prior of Police arrival. The matter is pending charges.

Police attended a residential area after receiving the report of a suspicious vehicle. Police located the unoccupied vehicle and upon conducting checks, it was determined to be stolen from Red Deer. The vehicle was seized and towed for evidence examination. The investigation is still ongoing.

Police attended the walking trails to assist an elderly male who was disoriented and unable to locate his way back home. The 73 year old male was reunited with his spouse.
