Lethbridge man charged with aggravated assault that sent male to hospital in Calgary

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police have charged a 46-year-old man with aggravated assault after a 39-year-old man was airlifted to a Calgary hospital over the weekend with serious head injuries.

On July 8, 2017 at approximately 5:30 a.m. EMS responded to a report of a male with a head injury at business along the 200 block of 3 Avenue South. The male was transported to Chinook Regional Hospital and subsequently transferred to Calgary for treatment of a fractured skull. He remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.

Investigation determined the victim and a male acquaintance had been involved in a dispute when the assault occurred earlier in the morning along the 600 block of 3 Avenue South. As a result of the altercation the victim was struck in the head with a weapon. Police later arrested the accused without incident.

Leonard Brave Rock Jr, 46, is charged with one count of aggravated assault. Brave Rock was remanded to appear in court today.
