Vancouver Police Investigate Double Homicide in West End – UPDATED

Vancouver, BC – Update July 18th – VPD Homicide detectives have made an arrest in last week’s double homicide at 1835 Morton Avenue.

Leonard Landrick, 73, was arrested last night and has been charged with two counts of 2nd degree murder in relation to the deaths of 57- year-old Sandra McInnes and 51-year-old Neil Croker. Both the victims and the accused were residents of the building at that location.

As the case is now before the courts, there is no further information for release at this time.


The VPD Homicide unit is currently investigating a double homicide in a West End apartment building. Just before 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July the 9th, officers were called to 1835 Morton Avenue and located two people deceased. The victims have been identified as a 57 year old woman and a 51 year old man, both residents of Vancouver.

Investigators have arrested a person of interest, and based on the information collected so far, there is no indication that the public is at risk. All parties are known to each other.

Investigators are asking for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity around the apartment building, from the afternoon of Saturday, July the 8th to the early evening of Sunday, July the 9th, to please contact VPD homicide at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

This investigation is ongoing and VPD officers will remain in the area as it continues. No additional information is available to share at this time.
