Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – Prince Albert Police Service had a steady weekend, from Friday night to Monday morning the Service attended 294 calls for service and had 47 arrests. The top two calls for service were for intoxicated persons (39) and disturbances (25).
File # 2017-22769: Marihuana / MV charges
Prince Albert Police Service on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 2:39 a.m. a routine patrol on 3000 Block 6th Avenue East identified a driver wanted on outstanding warrants and attempted to pull over the vehicle. The vehicle failed to yield to officers and continued to travel at high speeds. The suspect vehicle eventually made its way to 4200 Block Central Avenue and hit a dead end in the road and attempted to drive off-road until being obstructed by bushes.
The male driver and a female occupant exited the vehicle. The female occupant was immediately arrested but the male driver fled on foot. The female occupant was found to have outstanding warrants upon arrest.
The male suspect was located by officers and arrested.
A bag of marijuana was also located and seized by officers. The marijuana seized weighed approximately 236 grams.
The 22-year-old female suspect from Prince Albert is charged with breach of being at large of her undertaking (Information #991018255).
The 24-year-old male suspect from Prince Albert is charged with operating a motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public, a charge of refusal to stop for a peace officer and attempting to evade the peace officer, a charge of being at large of his recognizance to comply not to possess or consume drugs and not to have contact with the female suspect and a charge of unlawful possession of marihuana exceeding 30 grams (Information #991018257).
The suspects will face charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
File # 2017-23013: Assault with a weapon
At 6:55 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2017 Prince Albert Police Service attended to an alley on 400 Block of 7 Street East on a disturbance call of a male with a knife in an argument with two females.
The male and two females were located and arrested without incident. The male had a knife on his person at the time of arrest.
The 29-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with two counts of committing an assault using a weapon, a knife, two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, having in possession a weapon, a knife, for a purpose dangerous to the public peace (Information #991018340).
The suspect will face charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
File #2017-23030: Armed Robbery
On Monday, July 9, 2017 at 9:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to 1200 Branion Drive for a robbery in progress. The suspects had already fled in a vehicle prior to police arrival.
Complainant stated that a female and a male had entered the store. The female wore a black hoodie and a black bandana covering her face and was carrying a machete. The male was wearing a grey hoodie with black bandana covering his face and had a gun in hand.
The suspects demanded money but the store had already locked away money for the evening. The suspects took hats and playing cards from the store and left traveling northbound on 22nd Street in an orange coloured vehicle.
