Peace River Peace Officer Nabs Speeder Going 143 km/hr in 60 Zone

Peace River, Alberta – At 8:31 p.m. on July 8, 2017, a Community Peace Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for travelling 143 km/h in a posted maximum 60 km/h zone.

The 26 year old resident from Peace River, AB was issued a mandatory court appearance for speeding, and is scheduled to appear in Peace River Provincial Court on December 20, 2017.

Demerits for speeding range from two points (exceeding the posted limit by less than 15 km/h) to six points (exceeding the posted limit by more than 50 km/h).

Convictions for excessive speed come with a maximum fine of $2,300 and a driver’s licence suspension of up to 90 days.
