St. Albert, Alberta – On July 7th, 2017 at approximately 7:00 a.m. homeowners on Mission Avenue discovered that unknown individual(s) had entered their garage sometime overnight and stole two bicycles.
The first bicycle is described as a Giant 29e XTC2, white in colour, value at $1399. The other bike is described as a 2015 specialized “Fatboy”, orange in colour, value at $4200. It is believed that the garage door may have been left open overnight. It is also believed that these bikes may have been sold through a popular online classified site.
St. Albert would like to remind the citizens to be cautious about buying items from online classified as a growing number of thieves are using online sites to “hawk” or to sell their stolen goods. “If a deal appears too good to be true, it probably is. If our subsequent investigation leads us to you, you could be charged criminally for possession of stolen property and the merchandise would be seized”, says Cst. Avoine with St. Albert RCMP.
It is possible that those bicycles may have been purchased in good faith through online classified. If you believe that you may be in possession of one of those bicycle your are ask to contact St. Albert RCMP. If you have information about this or any crime, please call the St. Albert R.C.M.P. at 780-458-7700 or call your local police. If you want to remain anonymous you can contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), by Internet at www.tipsubmit.com or by SMS (check your local Crime Stoppers www.crimestoppers.ab.ca for instructions).
