Aggravated Assault & Impaired Driver Investigated by Prince Albert Police

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – The Prince Albert Police Service had a busy 24 hours responding to 116 calls for service between Wednesday at 7 a.m. and Thursday at 7 a.m., arresting 22 people. Calls of note:

File # 17-23314: Aggravated Assault

At 7:30 a.m., July 12, 2017 Police responded to an Apt complex in the 1400 Block of 28 Street East for a weapons complaint of a male with a knife threatening a female. On arrival police located a 29 year old female who was suffering from a stab wound to her back. The female was transported to Victoria Hospital by Parkland Ambulance and is in stable condition. Police also located and arrested a 23-year-old male responsible for the incident. The accused is known to the victim.

The 23-year-old Prince Albert man is charged with Aggravated Assault and Breach of Conditional Sentence order and will make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today (Info # 991018752).

File # 17-23405: Impaired Driver

At approximately 8:45 p.m., July 12, 2017 police responded to the 1300 Block of 15 Street West for a motor vehicle accident. On arrival police determined that a SUV had rear ended a parked car, unoccupied at the time of the incident. The driver of the SUV was believed to be impaired and was arrested for Impaired Driving and transported to the police station to give samples of her breath. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

A 35-year-old female from Prince Albert has been charged with Impaired Driving and Exceeding the Legal Limit (Info # 991018794).

The accused will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
