Camrose, Alberta – July 17th, 2017 – A west end business called Police with two separate theft investigations. In both cases, the suspects were identified and charged with theft and possession of stolen property then released on an appearance notice.
A woman reported that her bank card and cell phone were stolen from inside her unlocked vehicle. The bank card was used on two occasions in Camrose. The investigation is ongoing.
As a result of a vehicle stop, Police noted an odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath. The 21 year old woman was placed on the roadside screening device and subsequently issued a 24 hour suspension.
July 16th, 2017
Staff at a west end business called Police advising a woman was stranded by her boyfriend and had nowhere to stay for the evening. Police assisted in finding shelter for the 39 year old woman.
Police dealt with numerous collisions and bylaw complaints during the day. Several warnings were issued.
A Loss Prevention Officer called advising a male stole numerous items from the store. A 56 year old man was located with the product and was arrested. A search of the male located cocaine, methamphetamine and cannabis marihuana inside of a plastic container. The male was charged with theft, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and breaching his court order conditions.
A 23 year old man called seeking assistance in retrieving his property from his ex-roommate. Police spoke with the 21 year old woman who was cooperative and both parties were civil during the exchange.
Police responded to a complaint of a male and female fighting inside of an apartment. A 28 year old man and 31 year old woman were spoken to and confirmed it to be a verbal argument. Both were separated for the evening.
A homeowner indicated he returned from holidays and noted his residence was broken into and numerous firearms were stolen. Police have developed a suspect in the incident and are continuing our investigation.
July 15th, 2017
While Police were conducting a check stop they observed open liquor in a vehicle. Police conducted a liquor search on the vehicle and found a quantity of cannabis marihuana as well. The male driver was charged with transporting open liquor and the female passenger was charged with possessing a controlled substance.
