Saskatchewan ICE Unit Charges Male in Child Pornography Case

Regina, Saskatchewan – On June 6, 2016, the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit began an investigation concerning an unknown person who was in possession and making available child pornography over a peer to peer file sharing network.

The ICE unit was able to obtain child pornography from this person between March 11, 2017 and March 14, 2017. Subscriber information was obtained from SaskTel through a Production Order which led to a search warrant of a residence on the 1100 block of Blackwood Street North, Regina, Saskatchewan.

Numerous computers and digital devices were seized during the search warrant. A review of the data located on these devices led to the arrest of Salim ALASADI, born 1968-01-07. ALASADI is being charged with Possession of Child Pornography contrary to Section 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada, Accessing Child Pornography contrary to Section 163.1(4.1) of the Criminal Code of Canada and Make Available Child Pornography contrary to Section 163.1(3) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

ALASADI’s next court appearance is scheduled for August 22, 2017 at 9:30am.
