Drug Trafficking Charges Laid in Stony Plain

Stony Plain, Alberta – On July 25th, 2017, a male known to be wanted on warrants was arrested by the members of the Stony Plain/Spruce Grove Drug Section as the result of an ongoing investigation. At the time of his arrest, methamphetamine, an extendable baton and drug trafficking paraphernalia were found to be in his possession.

Andrew WEITZEL of Stony Plain is being charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, possession of marihuana and multiple counts of failure to comply with a recognizance.

WEITZEL has been remanded in custody, and is scheduled to appear at the Stony Plain Provincial Court House on August 2nd.
