Lloydminster RCMP charge man with Criminal Harassment

Lloydminster, Alberta – On July 22, 2017 at approximately 10:00 p.m., Lloydminster RCMP were advised of a collision that occurred in Lloydminster. A victim advised that an unknown male approached him outside a restaurant and started video recording him and accusing him of trying to meet with a young boy.

The victim immediately jumped into his car and was able to get away. A vehicle then followed him for a short distance. Once stopped the same unknown male blocked the vehicle and demanded the victim get out. The victim fearing for his safety backed up hitting a parked car but was able to flee the area and call police.

The suspect was identified by a witness to the hit and run and a video posted to a Facebook page.

Chase Brian Karnes**, a 22-year-old from Marsden, Saskatchewan was charged with Common Nuisance, Criminal Harassment and Mischief. He was released on Recognizance with court conditions and is set to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on August 28, 2017.

As this matter if now before the courts no further information will be made available.
