Driver killed in Calgary single vehicle collision

Calgary, Alberta – The Calgary Police Service is currently on the scene of a single vehicle collision where the driver was killed.

On Sunday, July 30, 2017, at approximately 11 p.m., police were called to the scene of the collision, on southbound Stoney Trail and 17 Avenue S.E. It is believed that the vehicle hit a road sign and caught on fire. The driver was found beside the vehicle and has been confirmed as deceased.

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Unit is on scene investigating the collision. It is anticipated that southbound Stoney Trail will remain closed for several hours.
