Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Saskatoon Police are investigating a robbery that occurred this morning at a financial institution.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., July 31, 2017, officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of 8th Street East for a report of a robbery in progress. The suspect was gone upon Police arrival. Witnesses told Police that a man came into the financial institution and demanded money from an employee. He claimed to have a weapon, but no weapon was seen during the incident. The man fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured.
The suspect is described as being Caucasian, approximately 50 years old, short in height with a large belly and a brown beard. He was wearing a black, silk rimmed Fedora hat with sunglasses and a black long sleeved shirt with a mesh jacket. One of his hands was bandaged and he was carrying a blue bag.
The suspect vehicle is described as a black Chrysler 300 with tinted rear windows and shiny rims.
