Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Two men are facing charges following the theft of a taxi from the John G. Diefenbaker International Airport this morning.
At approximately 10:45 a.m., July 31, 2017, Police received a report that a taxi had been stolen from outside the airport. It had been left unattended, with the keys inside.
GPS allowed officers to track the taxi to a parking lot at the intersection of 33rd Street and Confederation Drive. Patrol officers then witnessed the vehicle travel from Confederation Drive to Borden Place, back down Confederation Drive again, before being stopped at 33rd Street.
A 30 year old man is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court tomorrow morning following an incident where a taxi was stolen from the airport. The man was the sole occupant of the stolen taxi when police stopped the vehicle this morning. Initial reports indicated two persons were taken into custody.
The 30 year old man is facing a charge of theft of motor vehicle and breach of probation.
