Nova Scotia woman ticketed for distracted driving following collision

Maugerville, New Brunswick – A Nova Scotia woman has been ticketed for using a hand-held device while driving following a collision in Maugerville.

On August 1, 2017, shortly after 4:30 p.m., the Oromocto detachment of the West District RCMP was called to the scene of a collision in Maugerville. A westbound pickup truck crossed the centre line and collided with an SUV driving in the opposite direction. The woman driving the SUV was taken to hospital with minor injuries. An infant and a second woman in the SUV were unharmed. The driver of the pickup truck was also unharmed.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 33-year-old woman from Kings County, Nova Scotia was ticketed for operating a motor vehicle while using a hand-operated electronic device.
