Didsbury RCMP execute search warrant on Chop Shop

Didsbury, Alberta – Didsbury RCMP executed a search warrant on a residence on Range Road 280A, Mountain View County on Wednesday August 2, 2017. Several items believed to be stolen were seized such as a dismantled Ford F-150, dismantled Dodge Ram 1500, shotgun, New Holland lawn tractor, and a Can-Am all terrain vehicle. Firearms, nunchakus, and a small amount of psilocybin mushrooms were also seized.

Didsbury RCMP have charged 49 year old Robert Wade Verloop and 50 year old Wilson Gray Woodland with several offences including possession of stolen property over $5000, Mischief over $5000, and possession of a stolen firearm. Verloop was further charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a controlled substance. Woodland was further charged with unsafe storage of firearms.

Verloop was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Calgary Provincial Court on August 9, 2017. Woodland was released on a recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court on August 21, 2017.
