Male suspect charged with possession of stolen property and a weapon

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – A male suspect has been charged after being found in possession of stolen property and a machete.

Shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017, patrol officers were driving eastbound on the 500 Block of 28 Street West when a suspicious male that matched the video footage from a theft from a motor vehicle and carrying a backpack was observed walking.

The officers arrested the male suspect. The backpack was searched and found was a machete, face mask, shot gun ammunition, what has been confirmed as stolen CDs and a bank card (Information #991021918).

The 27-year-old male from Montreal Lake, Saskatchewan is charged with one count of possession of a weapon, a knife for a purpose dangerous to the public peace one count of possession of ammunition while prohibited and one count of possession of stolen property not exceeding $5,000.

The suspect made his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
