Maple Ridge, B.C. – Ridge Meadows RCMP’s Street Enforcement Unit (SEU) arrested a 40 year old Coquitlam man in relation to an alleged drug investigation.
The suspect is no stranger to the police and has been charged with previous drug offences. This lengthy investigation linked the male to alleged drug dealings in the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows communities.
On August 4th around 2:20 a.m. police arrested the male, and search warrants resulted in a seizure of a substantial quantity of what police believe is fentanyl, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin as well as a handgun.
Ridge Meadows RCMP Operations Officer, Inspector Aaron Paradis said, Street level drugs are not tolerated in our community and there is no such thing as safe recreational drug use. This plethora of drugs won’t be a threat to our kids, vulnerable population and citizens in general. We will continue to target this dangerous criminal element in response to the current opioid crisis.
The suspect has been remanded on other unrelated charges, and our investigation continues. The drugs have been sent to Health Canada for analysis.
