Slave Lake, Alberta – An autopsy has been completed on the body recovered from the Lesser Slave River on August 5th. The Medical Examiner has now confirmed that the deceased is 21-year-old Nicole Robar who was reported missing on August 1st.
Nicole Robar’s death has been determined to be suspicious and the RCMP Major Crimes unit is leading the investigation. Earlier today, investigators completed a search of the river for any additional evidence. Anyone with information is still encouraged to contact the Slave Lake RCMP at 780-849-3045 or Crime Stoppers.
The family of Nicole Robar has been advised of the identification and have requested that their privacy be respected in this difficult time.

Slave Lake RCMP investigating after body found near Slave Lake
Slave Lake, Alberta – The RCMP are investigating after the discovery of a woman’s body in the Lesser Slave River yesterday.
At approximately 8:00 pm on August 5, a citizen contacted Slave Lake RCMP to report that they had discovered a body in the Lesser Slave River, East of the town of Slave Lake.
The cause of death remains under investigation. At this time, investigators believe that the body may be that of 21-year-old Nicole Brendan Robar. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, August 8 at which time the identity of the deceased will be confirmed and the cause of death will be determined.
Nicole Robar was previously reported as missing to Spruce Grove RCMP on August 1st and was reported to have been in Slave Lake on July 10.

Stony Plain/Spruce Grove/Enoch RCMP – Search for missing female
Spruce Grove, Alberta – Stony Plain/Spruce Grove/Enoch RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Nicole Brendan ROBAR, age 21, she was last seen in Spruce Grove on July 14th, 2017. Information received by Nicole Brendan ROBAR on July 10th, 2017 suggests that she may be living in Slave Lake, Alberta.
Police are asking that anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact them immediately.
The missing female is described as;
• Green eyes
• Brown hair, shoulder length
• 5’3” Tall
• slim build
Nicole Brendan ROBAR goes by “Nikki” and may also be using “Levesque” as her last name.
