Medicine Hat Police Arrest Male Following Alleged Attempt to Run Over Large Group of People

Medicine Hat, Alberta – On August 13, 2017 at approximately 1:30 am the Medicine Hat Police Service received a complaint of a white pickup truck that was attempting to run over a large group of people on Terrace View NE in Medicine Hat after a dispute had taken place. This resulted in one person being dragged several feet and suffering minor injuries. Police were able to locate the driver of the pickup truck as he entered his residence.

Officers attempted to arrest the male at the front door and the male refused to exit his residence. Police obtained a warrant to gain entry into the residence and the male was taken into custody without incident.

A 27 year old Medicine Hat man is facing charges of Assault with a Weapon, Uttering threats, Dangerous Driving and Breach of Probation. He will be brought before a Justice of the Peace for a bail hearing later this date.

A second 19 year old Medicine Hat man was also arrested for Obstruction of a Peace Officer in relation to this incident.
