Downtown Lethbridge traffic stop results in drug trafficking charges

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police have charged a 54-year-old woman with drug trafficking offences following a weekend traffic stop in a high crime area.

On Aug. 12, 2017 at approximately 8 p.m. a member of the Downtown Policing Unit was on patrol when he observed a suspicious vehicle in an alley along the 600 block of 7 Street South that is known to be used for drug trafficking. A traffic stop was subsequently conducted and the driver and lone occupant was found in possession of methamphetamine, Oxycodone, OxyNeo and cash. She was arrested without incident and the drugs seized.

Cheryl Bernice Fox, 54, of Lethbridge, is charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000. Fox is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 31.
