Victim Involved in ATV Accident Succumbs to Injuries

Whistler, BC – A woman has died as a result of injuries sustained during an ATV incident on Blackcomb Mountain.

On August 10, 2017 a 45 year old woman was involved in a serious ATV incident, while riding as part of an organized group on Blackcomb Mountain trails. As a result of the injuries sustained during the incident, the woman did not survive. No one else was involved or injured.

At about 7:50 PM the Whistler RCMP received a report from the British Columbia Ambulance Service regarding an ATV incident involving serious injuries as a result of a crash. Police attended the scene on Crystal Road, near Crystal Hut on Blackcomb Mountain. The woman had been transported by helicopter to the Whistler Health Clinic where she had received emergency medical care.

The Whistler RCMP are working with the BC Coroner Service to establish the circumstances that led to the ATV incident. The woman’s family have been notified.
