Body of Male Found on Mission Flats, Kamloops

Kamloops, BC – Kamloops RCMP are investigating the discovery of a deceased male on Mission Flats Road.

On August 16th a citizen saw a tent behind a tree as he was walking along the Thompson River next to Mission Flats Road. The citizen approached the tent but as he got close to the tent, he could smell a strong odour. The police were notified and when the officers entered the tent, they found a badly decomposed body. It appears that the body is of an adult male. At this time, there is no evidence leading the RCMP to believe the death is suspicious. Drugs and paraphernalia were found in the tent.

The Coroner’s Office was engaged and will be conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death, and the approximate age and height of the deceased male.

Police are researching all missing person files and the investigation is ongoing.
