Chilliwack Mounties net drugs and firearms in separate raids

Chilliwack, BC – Drugs and firearms were seized after two RCMP investigations led to the execution of a search warrants in July.

On July 17, 2017 investigators from the Chilliwack Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) supported by the Chilliwack Prolific Offender Suppression Team (POST) executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant of properties in the 50000-block of O’Byrne Road where around 4,500 marihuana plants were seized by police.

On July 26, 2017 executed a search warrant in the 41000-block of Yarrow Central Road. During the search a significant amount of drugs along with cash, a loaded handgun and ammunition were seized by officers. Two men arrested during the search were released on site by police.

“These were two separate investigations being conducted by Chilliwack investigators that prevented a significant amount of drugs and a loaded handgun from reaching the street,” says Cpl. Mike Rail spokesperson for the UFVRD.
