Leduc RCMP make arrest following police motor vehicle collision

Nisku, Alberta – Leduc RCMP engaged in a minor collision with a vehicle at the south end of Nisku following a call to service about a potentially dangerous driver. As a result of police intervention, the driver of the vehicle was arrested and is in police custody facing charges.

Earlier today at 8:33 a.m., Leduc RCMP received a request to locate a potentially dangerous 23-year-old male. Responding members located his vehicle and made attempts to affect an arrest. The suspect male attempted to drive into the marked police vehicle which responded by eventually immobilizing the suspect male’s vehicle in a ditch.

The male was arrested on scene and is facing charges of Flight from Police and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The name of the accused cannot be released as charges have not formally been sworn. A release hearing is pending.

No members of the general public were injured and no public property was damaged. Neither the male, nor any of the responding RCMP members, incurred any significant injuries as a result of this incident.
