Penticton RCMP week in review 2017-08-22

Penticton, BC – The following incidents occurred over the past week in Penticton:

2017-08-16

2017-13125 At 340 am, the owner of a blue Kia Soul reported that it had been stolen from the parking lot of Denny’s on Burnaby Avenue. Two females had sat down with her uninvited and stole her keys without her noticing. Both 20 year old females have been identified by witnesses and through video surveillance. The vehicle was recovered on August 20th on Ashnola Road in Keremeos. Both females are facing charges of theft over $5000.

2017-13249 The Penticton Targeted Enforcement Unit attended a residence on Marron Valley Road and recovered a Ford F150 pickup that had been stolen earlier in Penticton and a Honda CRF450X motorcycle that had been reported stolen on August 14th in Osoyoos. A number of individuals that are well known to police were present at the property and both matters remain under investigation.

2017-13429 Police were called to Philpott Road in Okanagan Falls for a suspicious vehicle. A 2004 Toyota Matrix that had been stolen from Summerland on August 8th was recovered.

2017-08-21

2017-13456 At 230 am, Penticton RCMP were alerted to a report of a black pickup that had been driving at a high rate of speed through Peachland. It was located at a gas station on Eckhardt Avenue and sped off in a dangerous manner upon seeing police. It was recovered unoccupied near Riverside Drive where it had driven over a foot bridge and struck a pole. The truck had been stolen from Abbotsford two days prior.

2017-13462 At 730 am, a resident of South Main Street reported that someone had entered his residence overnight through an open door. Items reported missing include a wallet, a cell phone, a watch and change.

2017-13465 At 9 am, a resident of Kingfisher Drive reported that his garage had been entered overnight and a wallet and keys were stolen from the unlocked vehicle inside.

2017-13470 At 945 am, Police received a report from the owner of a Chevy Silverado pickup that had been parked overnight at the Empire Motel. A wallet with identification and credit cards was reported missing.

2017-13473 At 1030 am, a Victoria Drive resident reported that his garage had been broken into overnight and several tools and a bicycle were missing. Penticton RCMP had a 24 year old male in their custody on an unrelated matter who had several of the tools from the garage in his possession. He is facing charges of possession of stolen property.
