Grande Prairie RCMP Search Warrant Leads to Drug Seizure

Grande Prairie, Alberta – On August 23 at approximately 9:47 PM Grande Prairie RCMP with the assistance of the Grande Prairie RCMP drug Unit and Police Dog Services, executed a search warrant at a local residence.

Once in the residence, police seized 8.6 pounds of Marijuana; 577 grams of Cannabis resin; 82 pills of Oxycodone and a just over $12,000.00 in cash. Police arrested and charge two (2) individuals without any incident as a result of their investigation.

Kenneth LAVANWAY (47) of Grande Prairie has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

• Trafficking
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking x3
• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
• Proceeds of crime

Lorraine BOUCHER (43) of Grande Prairie has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking x2
• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
• Proceeds of crime

LAVANWAY and BOUCHER are to appear in Provincial court on September 18, 2017 at 9:00 AM.
