Airdrie RCMP Charges Calgary Pair for Copper Wire Theft

Airdrie Alberta – On Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at approximately 4:00 am, Airdrie RCMP were dispatched to a theft in progress on Kingfisher Crescent in Airdrie, Alberta.

Airdrie RCMP responded immediately and were able to contain two (2) males within a construction site. The two males were cutting and attempting to steal copper wire within the new housing development. The males were subsequently arrested by RCMP after making attempts to run away. The males were also found to be in possession of break-in tools.

The Airdrie RCMP were alerted to this crime by off-site security personnel and surveillance.

33 year old Christopher Aaron Johnson of Calgary is charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Mischief Under $5000
  • Possession of Break and Enter Tools
  • Breach of Probation

36 year old Raymond Kenneth Johnson of Calgary is charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Mischief Under $5000
  • Possession of Break and Enter Tools
  • Breach of Probation

Both Johnson’s were remanded into custody at the time of arrest and are scheduled to appear at the Provincial Court of Alberta in Airdrie on Thursday, August 31, 2017.
