Prince Albert Police Lay Uttering Threats & Possession of Weapon Charges

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – Prince Albert Police Service officers were dispatched to 1400 Block 28 Street East on a weapons complaint around 12:54 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017.

When officers arrived they took a statement from the complainant – a taxi cab driver. The complainant stated that two people from the apartment building had called for a cab. Upon entering his vehicle they requested to be driven to Saskatoon. The cab driver asked for fare upfront as was company policy for long distance fares.

One of the persons sitting in the front passenger seat then threatened the taxi driver with a knife. He fled the vehicle and called police. No injuries were sustained.

While he was providing police with a statement the two suspects were seen leaving the building and identified by the complainant.

Both were detained. A female suspect was arrested. The 20-year-old female from Prince Albert is charged with uttering threats, concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.

The suspect will made their first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court Monday (Information #991023848).
