Firearms Stolen From Anzac, Alberta Residence

Anzac, Alberta – On August 29th, 2017 at 3:30 am, the Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a house fire in Anzac. There was no one injured in the fire. Once the fire was extinguished, it was discovered that firearms, which had been appropriately stored, were stolen from the home. In total, 13 handguns, one semi automatic rifle, and a variety of other long barrel firearms were stolen. There were several antique, pre-World War II, long barrel firearms stolen.

This investigation is ongoing, involving Wood Buffalo RCMP General Duty, Wood Buffalo RCMP General Investigations Section, the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team, Wood Buffalo Emergency Services, and a Provincially contracted fire investigator.

All handguns are either restricted or prohibited firearms, and can not be owned by anyone that does not have the appropriate firearms licence.
