Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – A 34 year old male has been arrested and is currently charged with break and enter, assault with a weapon, and breach of his undertaking, after members of the SPS Break and Enter Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the 900 block of Werschner Crescent today.
At approximately 5:15 AM, this morning, Saskatoon Police responded to a break and enter in progress in the Briarwood area of the City. The homeowner confronted the suspect who fled the scene in a vehicle. In the process of fleeing the scene, the suspect is alleged to have injured the homeowner with the use of his vehicle. The homeowner was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and received treatment.
Members of the Break and Enter Unit continued the investigation, suspecting a male who was known to them from past dealings. This male was arrested this afternoon and property stolen from the break and enter was recovered at the residence where the search was conducted.
Further, two other males, age 28 and 41 years of age, were also arrested during the investigation. Both are currently charged with possession of stolen property and possession for the purpose of trafficking crystal methamphetamine. The 41 year old male is also charged with breach of his undertaking.
The investigation continues. All males will be in court tomorrow morning or see a Justice of the Peace.
