RCMP seize significant amount of money during TransCanada Highway traffic stop

Saint-Jacques, New Brunswick – The New Brunswick RCMP with the assistance of the Edmundston Police Force have seized a significant amount of money following a traffic stop on the TransCanada Highway.

On September, 6, 2017 at approximately 1:45 p.m., police intercepted a vehicle with Quebec license plates on Highway 2 near Saint-Jacques.

Two men from the Montreal area, aged 43 and 40, were arrested and later released. A search by RCMP resulted in the seizure of a large sum of Canadian currency that was concealed in the vehicle.

The seizure has links to organized crime and outlaw motorcycle gangs.
