Police in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia search home, seize drugs

Amherst, Nova Scotia – On September 9, pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the Cumberland County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU), with assistance from the RCMP and Amherst Police Department searched a home on Brownell Ave.

During the search, quantities of cocaine, psilocybin, marihuana, LSD, MDMA, shatter, and prescription pills were seized from the residence, along with drug paraphernalia and a quantity of cash.

As a result, a 26-year-old man from Amherst and a 26-year-old woman from Amherst are facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (x 7)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance

Both individuals have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Amherst Provincial Court on October 30.

The investigation is ongoing.
